Graceful Stems started as an unreachable dream. I grew up loving florals, and would find any excuse to beg my mom to buy some. We used to go to the Farmers Market every Saturday Morning and I would beg my mom to buy me one of the tiny $5 bouquets so that I could put it in my room. Flowers were one of my favorite creations that God had given and it was the thing that just seemed to always brighten my mood when I saw them. Senior year of high school I started working at my local Trader Joe’s alongside my mom Jenny, who was in charge of the floral section. Soon enough my managers started constantly putting me in the flower section and I spent many early mornings just reveling in the beauty that I got to work. Soon enough most of my paycheck went to flowers and I started making arrangements for my mom and friends.
Designing florals began to feel like the right thing; I felt at home and at peace doing it. Surely enough in December 2020 I got engaged to the best guy on the planet, and decided to tackle on doing my own wedding florals (which might I add is not an easy task). While in the middle of my own wedding planning, a friend of mine reached out after seeing instagram posts of arrangements I made asking if I wanted to do her own florals for her wedding! I remember the months leading up to the wedding so afraid that I would fail, but the day before her wedding I got up at 4am to drive to the wholesale and experiencing the most excitement I had ever felt. I’ll never forget that feeling after my first wedding of just getting to sit back and feel proud of what I had created. I then decided I needed to start my own business, as to which my mom created the name, and decided to quit Trader Joe’s in order to focus on full time florals! Which brings us to where we are today :)
